Finbar McBride, a man with dwarfism, has a strong passion for trains. Fin inherits some land with an old train depot in the middle of Newfoundland, New Jersey. He decides to move to and start living in the train station.
"The Station Agent" is about how Finbar meets and becomes friends with his neighbors Joe Oramas and Olivia Harris, a divorced woman. "The Station Agent" is a touching film about how people can develop and maintain relationships, regardless of disability. The dwarfism of Finbar is never an issue in the friendship that the three neighbors cultivate.
